FA chiefs to probe spit claims

Wellens vehemently denied the incident which is alleged to have happened during Swansea's 3-1 win over Doncaster on Sunday.[LNB]"I did not spit in his face. I was clearing my throat and I did not aim his way," Wellens said.[LNB]The incident was not spotted by referee Scott Mathieson as it took place while Rovers' player James Coppinger was being treated for concussion.[LNB]The FA have now confirmed that they will launch a full investigation into the incident, allowing both parties to submit statements before taking appropriate action.[LNB][LNB]
