Emnes loan extension unlikely

Any hopes Swansea had of extending Marvin Emnes` stay appear unlikely after new Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray stressed his desire to take a close look at each of his loan players. The Teessiders have a total of four men out on temporary deals and, in an ideal world, Mowbray would like to personally run the rule over each of them. However he will have to maintain a watching brief for now, and that is exactly what he intends to do. That means forward Emnes, who arrived at the Liberty Stadium on a one-month deal in mid-October, is likely to return to the Riverside in two weeks` time. Mowbray told Boro's official website: "I would like to take a look at all of them and assess them to be fair to the whole squad. "But Marvin is on a 28-day loan and we can't bring him back before that, while Watford aren't going to agree to Andrew Taylor coming back, so it is what it is. "It's only fair to the players who are out on loan to bring them back and assess them. We will certainly send someone out to have them watched where they are but I would prefer to have them back here."
