Cardiff are thought to want £3million for the in-form striker who was recently linked with a return to the Premier League at Aston Villa.[LNB]Swans chairman Jenkins told the South Wales Echo: "We have spoken to Dave Jones about the possibility of signing Jay. We were interested in a number of strikers and that was one conversation we had.[LNB]"He is not a player that is within our price range though. Cardiff's valuation for Jay is miles out from where we put ours.[LNB]"That is where things stand at the moment. We couldn't come anywhere near Cardiff's valuation."[LNB]He added: "Whether you are looking at the Championship, above or below, you want players that suit what we believe is right for our formation and Jay is one of them."[LNB][LNB]
