Bad day at the office for Rodgers

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers conceded his side had an "off night" as they lost their unbeaten home record in the Championship to Bristol City at the Liberty Stadium. Jon Stead scored the only goal of the game for the Robins in the fifth minute, slotting home after Jamal Campbell-Ryce's effort had been kept out by an excellent save from Dorus De Vries. Swansea had the majority of possession from that point on but were guilty of giving the ball away cheaply as they struggled to create any genuine clear-cut chances. And Rodgers admitted his side's exertions in Sunday's derby success over Cardiff may have had an impact. "It was very disappointing," he said. "We had an off night. We didn`t start well and you have to give credit to Bristol City, once they got the goal they defended strongly, closed the spaces up and we couldn`t break them down. "I said to the players that we have to learn the lesson, that at any game we cannot afford to have an off day, we have to be 100% on it. We were a little loose with our passing and started slowly and you can`t afford to have to many bad days at the office. "We were better in the second half and maybe with a bit more luck we could have got the goal. But I can`t criticise them, they are a humble group of players and they are hurting in that changing room because we want to win our home games."
