Absent Bodde hits back at Swans

The new Swans manager called Bodde's professionalism into question on Monday as he failed to report back after the summer break. The Dutchman, who is currently in the final stages of recovering from a knee injury, has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium. He has previously expressed a desire to play in the Premier League but Swansea are determined to keep one of their key men, rejecting an offer from Bolton last week. It is understood Swansea want £5million for the 27-year-old but Bodde's camp feel they are being unreasonable with their demands. Bodde is also disappointed that a scheduled meeting with chairman Huw Jenkins did not go ahead and has given no indication of when he might return to the club. "Swansea are using bad words against Bodde and yet they know exactly why he wasn't at training," a spokesman for the player told the South Wales Evening Post. "We made an appointment with the chairman, Huw Jenkins, and we thought he would come over to Holland last weekend. "We spoke to him about that last Friday but the appointment did not happen and now the chairman is unreachable. "We wanted to speak with him before Ferrie came back to Swansea but that did not happen. At the moment I cannot say when he will return."
