von Heesen to coach struggling Kapfenberg

Struggling Austrian first division side Kapfenberg on Tuesday appointed German Thomas von Heesen as their coach until the end of the season.

The club, sitting bottom of the Austrian league with nine points from 16 games, sacked previous coach Werner Gregoritsch earlier this month.

Von Heesen previously coached German clubs including Bundesliga side Nuremberg, and was in charge of Cypriot outfit Apollon Limassol until January 2010.

Kapfenberg lost 6-0 at 2010 champions Salzburg at the weekend.
