The £24million forward looks set to create a summer scramble for his signature following his confession of discontent, but the club will be looking to recoup a large portion of the substantial transfer fee shelled out two years go.
Darren Bent: "It is about playing and, at my age, I can't have another season like this one.
"Time is running out.
"I'm not really one of these guys who wants to sit there, not do anything and get paid.
"Christian Benteke is was a big guy and it looked as if the partnership would form.
"But it's not meant to be. I don't quite know why."
