Would Henderson Welcome Mackem Return?

Former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson is expected to be offloaded by Liverpool to raise funds for a move to land Celtic's Victor Wanyama.

Reports in the Echo today suggest Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is prepared to sacrifice the England Under-21 skipper, despite Henderson making 44 appearances in his second year at Anfield last season.

The Echo:"Rodgers is rumoured to be keen on Wanyama, who had looked set to join Southampton after they agreed a £10m deal with Celtic.

"But Henderson has proved himself a survivor at Anfield after rejecting the chance to join Fulham in a swap deal last summer."

What a about a return to the Stadium Of Light?

With Paolo Di Canio watching the pennies, and wanting 58 players for "five pund and six bob", it is very unlikely Henderson will return.
