West Brom v SUNDERLAND: Kieran's calf has healed as Sbragia considers handing Richardson a return

Sunderland's Kieran Richardson is pushing for a recall for the Barclays Premier League trip to West Brom after overcoming a calf injury.

Captain Dean Whitehead is also back in training after a leg injury and is included in Ricky Sbragia's squad.

Nyron Nosworthy is ruled out after hurting his hamstring playing for the reserves in midweek and George McCartney remains sidelined.

Provisional squad: Gordon, Fulop, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Davenport, Ben-Haim, Collins, McShane, Tainio, Whitehead, Edwards, Malbranque, Richardson, Leadbitter, Yorke, Reid, Cisse, Murphy, Jones, Healy.
