Waghorn links up with Black Cats
Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn has returned to training less than a week after suffering a knee injury. The 20-year-old had to be helped from the pitch at Thomond Park in Limerick last Tuesday evening after being hurt following his match-winning double in a 2-1 friendly victory over a Munster XI. Manager Steve Bruce was keeping everything crossed as Waghorn, who impressed during a loan spell at Leicester last season, underwent tests. However, he flew out to Portugal for the club's Algarve training camp yesterday and was able to join in with his team-mates in this morning's session.
