Vaughan wasn’t even on the bench for Sunday’s derby victory over Newcastle United after being an unused substitute for Gus Poyet’s first game in charge at Swansea.
The 30-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had had interest from Championship clubs - Nottingham Forest, QPR, Leicester, Derby and Blackpool.
