Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has enjoyed a decent start to life in the Premier League, so good that Real Madrid are apparently interested. (Ghanaweb)

Madrid boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants cover from the injured Gonzalo Higuain and sees Gyan as the perfect man.

The 25-year-old Ghana international made a name for himself at the World Cup, earning himself a £13 million move to Sunderland from Rennes.

Since there he's bagged six goals and impressed in Steve Bruce's side - prompting interest from one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Reports suggest the Hammers are preparing a £5m raid for Barton and want him at Upton Park in January.
