The 29 year-old, who has a history of chronic knee complaints, limped off before half-time against Blue Square Premier club Grays after the ball struck him in the face and knocked him over, causing him to fall awkwardly. [LNB]Spurs removed King from the action as a precaution, and the injury is not thought to be serious, but it is yet another frustrating episode in the blighted career of the fromer England international. [LNB]According to the Sun, Sunderland manager Steve Bruce wants to sign 27-year-old Hutton to provide competition for places with full-backs Phil Bardsley and George McCartney. [LNB]Meanwhile, Bruce's Spurs counterpart, Harry Redknapp, is desperate for central-defensive cover, as the continuing fitness problems of King and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) refuse to go away. [LNB]Ferdinand, 24, has slipped down the pecking order at Sunderland, behind the likes of John Mensah and Paulo Da Silva, as a mixture of injury and lapses in concentration have seen his stock fall on Wearside. [LNB]Redknapp, though, remains a big fan of the centre-back and is likely to accept a player exchange involving Hutton, who cost £9 million from Rangers in Jan 2008. [LNB]
