Swansea Boss Warns Off Mackems!

07 January 2013 15:14
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has categorically stated that he does not want to sell Danny Graham, after the striker was linked with a move to Sunderland.

The striker has found opportunities limited this season and is understood to be a target of Sunderland, Newcastle, Norwich and Reading after falling behind Michu in the selection order.

Michael Laudrup: "We have not had official bids for Danny. He is playing well right now so obviously he is important for us, because he is scoring goals.

"But let us see what he is saying. That I am talking to players does not mean I tell them they can leave. That is just the way I am. I speak to players.

"Michu was on the bench, because he was not 100 per cent (fit) but I thought Danny, after two goals in two games, could keep his momentum up.

"Apart from his late goal, he showed great spirit and heart. In the last couple of games we have seen the Danny we saw at the end of pre-season."

O'NEILL AFTER ANDERLECHT DEFENDER

According to reports today ... Martin O'Neill has made Anderlecht's Roland Juhasz his No 1 defensive target.

The Black Cats boss wants to bring the 76-times capped Hungary international centre-back to Wearside on loan with a view to a £2.5m permanent deal.

Belgian side Anderlecht have rebuffed interest from Celtic and Rangers in the past, but they are now preparing to let the 29-year-old leave.

O’Neill wants to bring in to reinforce the heart of his defence, with injuries to Wes Brown and John O’Shea, and now Carlos Cuellar, meaning he has only two fit centre-backs – Titus Bramble and Matt Kilgallon.

Cuellar picked up a hamstring injury in yesterday’s FA Cup draw at Bolton and O’Shea is sidelined with a similar problem, while 33-year-old Brown has not played a competitive game for almost a year due to a knee problem, and is not expected to return any time soon.
