Sunderland's John Mensah loan deal
The basic details Ghana World Cup star John Mensah is set for another loan spell at Sunderland AFC, rumours of another loan deal have been circulating since the end of last season but with the hold up being the complexity of the contract. Sunderland are paying 500,000 Euros to French outfit Olympique Lyon for the initial season long loan deal for the player, an option to sign the defender at the end of the loan period has also been written into the contract. BUT!!! If John Mensah plays more than 25 games for Sunderland it will trigger a clause in the contract which the deal will become permanent with Sunderland paying out a further 4.5 million.
