Sunderland's Gain - Newcastle's Loss?

03 February 2013 12:44
Alan Pardew feels that Sunderland's new boy Danny Graham isn't good enough for Newcastle!

As we all know (and gets reported evertime the player gets a mention!)Graham is a Newcastle fan at heart, and joined Sunderland on the transfer deadline day for a reported fee of £5m.

You know the story about the booing against Swansea, so we won't go there.

However, Newcastle were in the market for a striker after they lost Senegal international Demba Ba to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

They wanted to sign Marseille striker Loic Remy but the Frenchman chose to join "bottom of the Premiership" Queens Park Rangers instead of going to Tyneside.

Now Pardew admits that they initially considered Graham as an option, but later backed out.

Alan Pardew: “They (signings) are pretty difficult to get over the line.

"Maybe Danny Graham but I don’t think he is in that level.

"I think that is something we will look at in the summer.”
