Sunderland's battle of the keepers.

13 July 2011 14:59
Three in for the number one spot. Sunderland and Steve Bruce will have a problem of the sorts managers love, having three top keepers all pushing for the number one jersey. Although, if rumours are true that may turn in to two keepers with Craig Gordon linked with a move north of the border to Celtic after contract extension talks have broken down.   Whereas new boy Keiren Westwood is very eager to show that he can make that step up from Championship to Premiership football.  But it won’t be easy for the Irishman as Belgian international Simon Mignolet impressed no end last season playing a fair chuck of the season with Gordon’s injury woes. Steve Bruce will have the pre-season friendly’s to decide on who will be given the number one spot, but up most it will be down to the individuals themselves to prove their worth being the first name down on the team sheet.
