Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is adamant that the capture of Titus Bramble is a great deal for the club after completing the signing of the Wigan Athletic defender on a three-year deal.
Bramble played under Bruce when the two men were at Wigan and has always impressed the current Black Cats boss.
Bruce told the club's official website: "Titus was absolutely outstanding for me at Wigan. He matured into a very, very good player so there was absolutely no hesitation when the chance came to bring him to Sunderland.
"He was certainly the right player at the right price and this is a great deal for the football club."
The 29-year-old played for Ipswich Town and Newcastle United before joining the Latics three years ago, going on to score five goals in 104 appearances for Wigan.
