Star in the making: Sunderland's Jordan Henderson Sunderland manager Steve Bruce says only a 'crazy offer' will take Jordan Henderson out of his hands this month. The England midfielder has attracted attention from Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea as he continues to enhance his reputation at the Stadium of Light. Henderson, who has ditched agent Colin Gordon in the last two months, has met Bruce and Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn with his father Brian in the last week to underline his commitment to his home-town club. Bruce said: 'I'm not expecting anything in January with Jordan. I can't see it but, hey, nothing surprises me. It would have to be absolutely huge, a crazy offer. I have told him and his father he needs to stay here and develop and they are in full agreement with me on that.' Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn said recently that he wanted the player at the club for the rest of his career of course but he is also a realist. Quinn said: 'When Jordan was being linked with a few clubs, his father rang me and told me "this is nothing to do with us, Jordan just wants to play for Sunderland" and I had to tell him, of all the players, Jordan really is the last one I am worried about. I know Jordan just wants to play for Sunderland.'
