Sunderland After Brazilian Goalkeeper
Sunderland have set their sights on QPR keeper Julio Cesar according to the Daily Mail.
Gus Poyet will look to bring in the experienced Brazilian in on a loan deal in January.
The 34 year old former Inter Milan man hasn’t played for QPR this season and could do with regular first team football with the 2014 World Cup finals on the horizon and Poyet may see Cesar as a viable alternative to former Arsenal man Vito Mannone.
Poyet; "I’m working on changing things in January, that’s for sure. But that doesn’t affect my thinking about now.
"There are things going on behind the scenes in terms of the transfer window – that hasn’t changed – and I’m confident they will happen.
"How big the changes will be, I don’t know just yet.
"But we need results now, in our next few games, and it is about personality and attitude. There is a gap between us and the other teams, so we need to be spot on."
QPR would be more than likely to sell Julio Cesar on the cheap as they look to have his wage packet wiped off the balance sheet.
