Sunderland want to sign AC Milan striker Dominic Adiyah

Sunderland are exploring the possibility of a season-long loan deal for Ghana's young striker Dominic Adiyiah.

The 20-year-old, who came on as a substitute in the World Cup quarter final against Uruguay, is on AC Milan's books.

But new San Siro boss Max Allegri is keen for him to gain experience elsewhere.

Ghana captain John Mensah could play a pivotal role.

He was on loan at Sunderland last season and talks are ongoing about a permanent deal from Lyon.
