Hartlepool take O'Donovan on trial. Roy O'Donovan will be spending a week at the Maiden Castle training ground under the watch full eye of ex goal keeping Sunderland legend and current Hartlepool manager Chris Turner.  O'Donovan was signed by Roy Keane in 2007 making only 7 first team appearances, he was shipped out on loan to various clubs until September 2009.  The strikers contract is due to end at the close of the current season and with pretty much zero chance of getting any sort of first team action with Sunderland a contract renewal will be non existent.  O'Donovan will be out to impress the ex Sunderland keeper in  a hope that he'll gain a possible loan deal until the end of the season with a full contract on offer at the end.
