SUNDERLAND have shattered their transfer record to complete the capture of Ghana international Asamoah Gyan.[LNB] The Black Cats have shelled out more than £13m to sign Gyan from Rennes, with the striker signing a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.[LNB] The 24-year-old agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Sunderland's training ground today, after flying into England last night.[LNB] He impressed during Ghana's run to the World Cup quarter-finals this summer, scoring three of his nation's four goals in South Africa.[LNB] Gyan will be available to make his Sunderland debut in the away game at Wigan on September 11.[LNB] The African is the only player to have joined the Black Cats on the final day of the transfer window, with the club's attempts to make a last-gasp move for Charles N'Zogbia having come to nothing.[LNB]
