Sunderland midfielder loaned to Tranmere
SUNDERLAND midfielder Robbie Weir has joined League One side Tranmere Rovers on loan until the end of the season.[LNB] The 22 year-old joins Black Cats defender Michael Kay who moved to Prenton Park in January in bolstering the squad on Merseyside, with Rovers sitting three points above the relegation zone after a 3-1 win at Plymouth on Saturday.[LNB] Both Weir, a Northern Ireland under 21 international, and Kay were regulars in the Black Cats' reserve side last season, helping the second string side to a fifth-placed finish in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North table.[LNB] Weir appeared in a total of 13 games, scoring one goal.[LNB]
