Sunderland Loanee Striker dropped by City
Benjani Mwaruwari looking for a new club. Zimbabwean striker Benjani who spent the end of last season on loan at the Stadium of Light has been released but Manchester City today. The 31 year old came to Sunderland as injury cover but wasn't needed with Bent, Jones and Campbell always front runners. Benjani found first team chances few and far between, and the opportunity to sign the striker was passed up by Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, as he was deemed not good enough for the Black Cats.
