According to L'Equipe, Sunderland are set to make an offer for the French striker Sebastien Haller in the coming days.

Sunderland have set their sights on Utrecht striker Sebastien Haller, who could make the move to the Stadium of Light for a fee in the region of €7 million.

Haller was sent on loan to the Dutch side Utrecht last December from the Ligue 2 outfit Auxerre, but after an impressive performance by the French striker the club made the move permanent.

The 21-year-old who has been on the radar of Brentford this summer scored 11 goals and created 17 chances in 17 league appearances last season.

The France Under-21 international who won the Utrecht’s player of the year award last season scored three goals in only two games this season.

Sunderland boss will try to add a new striker to stop this season disastrous start from getting any worse as the Black Cats lost their two games this season against Leicester City and Norwich City

Sebastien Haller has an impressive record for the French youth teams as he scored 17 goals in 37 appearances.
