SUNDERLAND boss Steve Bruce has smashed the club's transfer record after the club confirmed that Darren Bent has signed from Spurs.[LNB] England international Bent, 25, has signed a four-year deal after the two parties finally agreed a £10m fee after protracted negotiations.[LNB] The fee is thought to be worth up to £14m and makes Bent the most expensive player at the Stadium of Light, eclipsing the £9m paid to bring goalkeeper Craig Gordon from Hearts.[LNB] The England international becomes Sunderland's fourth signing of the summer, joining Fraizer Campbell, Lorik Cana and Paulo Da Silva. He is poised to make his Black Cats debut when they complete their pre-season programme at Hearts on Saturday.[LNB]
