Strachan happy with Celtic

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has played down reports linking him with Sunderland after claiming he is happy at Parkhead.

Strachan is believed to be one of the frontrunners to replace Roy Keane in the Stadium of Light hot-seat following his decision to resign on Thursday.

Former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce is reported to be the favourite for the Wearside job.

However, Strachan reaffirmed his commitment to the Scottish champions on Friday afternoon before walking out of a press conference when asked a direct question about his future.

Before cutting short his weekly meeting with the press, the fiery Scot said: "It's a fantastic club to work for and it's a great bunch of lads.

"They are smashing to work with, they are receptive and want to get better.

"The facilities are fantastic as well. We are training on a magnificent pitch, considering the weather has been that bad."
