Stokes leaves Sunderland for Hibs

ANTHONY Stokes has left Sunderland on a permanent basis to join Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.

Stokes has penned a three-year deal at Easter Road after moving north of the border for an undisclosed fee.

Signed from Arsenal for £2m, Stokes scored five goals in 38 appearances for the Black Cats.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce said: "We accepted an offer and we wish the boy the best of luck."
