Still No Decision On Wickham

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones have not given up hope of re-signing Connor Wickham on loan.

Wickham played the final game of his month-long spell at Hillsborough on Saturday, and is now back training at the Academy of Light.

But Wednesday are yet to receive a definitive answer from Sunderland over whether Wickham can return to Sheffield.

Martin O'Neill only has two strikers in his squad and an injury to eith Danny Graham or Steven Fletcher would leave him well under-strength.

The one way around it is a 24-hour recall clause included in the loan deal.

O’Neill was forced to include five defenders on the bench at Loftus Road, and Wickham (we would have thought) would have been involved if he was on the bench.

He is an option as a substitute, and it defies belief how O'Neill can let him go.

The 19-year-old is a confident kid, and he grabbed the winner at Leicester last weekend, saying "I would like to stay at Wednesday".
