Steven Fletcher hands in transfer request at Wolves as Sunderland close in

Sunderland are hoping to clinch a ?12million deal for former Scotland striker Steven Fletcher after he handed in a transfer request. Wolves are considering an improved offer for the 25-year-old which could be worth ?15m with add-ons. Fletcher took to Twitter to tell Wolves fans that he has asked to leave the club. On the move: Sunderland have agreed fee for Steven Fletcher He wrote: 'Just handed in a transfer request just to let the fans know where I am at right now.... #headsgone.' Fletcher scored 12 goals last season and was the No 1 summer target for Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill, who could be without Stephane Sessegnon for the start of the season. I can understand why you're working at a burger bar and yes, Fletch is way better at his job than you. - Johneboywolves, Lichfield, 08/8/2012 04:34 Click to rate  Rating (0)Report abuse Nick, if you don't want him its simple, don't go for him! Some facts are needed though. Firstly, besides this site where has it been mentioned that Wolves have accepted ANY bid. Secondly, Wolves, unlike Sunderland and the huge majority of other clubs in England have NO debt and are in no NEED to sell, and thirdly as a Wolves supporter 15 million for Fletcher is cheap. - John, Australia, 08/8/2012 04:31 Click to rate  Rating (0)Report abuse In a world where this guy is worth £15 million, I'm going to ask my supervisor (at McDonalds) for a raise... to £45,000. A fraction of what he'll earn, but I reckon I'm better at my job than he is. - Nick , Kent, 08/8/2012 00:57 Click to rate  Rating 10Report abuse Surely this has to be a wind up! £15million for a former Scotland striker?!?! Kevin Kyle is a former Scotland striker but you wouldn't pay £15 for him. Absolutely ridiculous, hate to say it but looking at our fire power and lack of ability to buy any recognised goal scorers it's going to be another long season up here on wearside! - Gareth1985, Darlington, England, 07/8/2012 22:40 Click to rate  Rating (0)Report abuse This is good for Sunderland if we get someone like him. He's good in the air and will get service from Mcclean and Larsson as well as Sessengeon. I think he'll bag more than 15 goals next season. Fact is, we had to spend big. There's no way around it. - Ian, United Kingdom, 07/8/2012 22:07 Click to rate  Rating (0)Report abuse Where's your source of fact? No mention of it from Wolves or Sunderland. - JakeWolf, Barcelona, Spain, 07/8/2012 20:25 Click to rate  Rating 1Report abuse The views expressed in the contents above are those of our users and do not necessarily reflect the views of MailOnline.
