Southend have confirmed they are in talks with Sunderland over Jean-Yves Mvoto. The 21-year-old, who arrived from Paris Saint Germain last year, is yet to make a first-team debut. Manager Steve Bruce wants Mvoto to gain some experience and Southend are now talking about a deal. Mvoto could provide much-needed cover should skipper Adam Barrett not recover form a knee injury before the League One opener against Huddersfield this Saturday.
