Seagulls play down Healy link

righton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has played down speculation linking him with a move for Sunderland striker David Healy.

The Northen Ireland forward is currently out of the first-team picture at Sunderland but although Poyet wants to bolster his firepower, he insists Healy is not a target.

"I suspect these rumours came about because I know him very well and he is a person I enjoyed working with when I was at Leeds," said Poyet.

"That said, from my point of view, I would love to have David with us. However, that is another matter because we have not spoken to anyone about it and we have not contacted the club, so it is nothing more than speculation."
