Wigan Athletic's Paul Scharner has dismissed the idea of following former Latics boss Steve Bruce to Sunderland this summer.
The versatile 29-year-old Austria international is expected to leave Wigan in the next few months, with a number of clubs both in England and elsewhere showing an interest.
Scharner confirmed: "I have decided I want to change clubs.
"My fee is £6million and there has been interest from clubs in England and Germany, but I would prefer to stay in England.
"Tottenham, Everton and Fulham are interested in me, just like Hertha Berlin and Hamburg.
"It was a big surprise when Steve Bruce left Wigan, but I cannot see myself joining Sunderland.
"They are certainly not an improvement on Wigan. Besides, I did not get on too well with Bruce's style of play."
