Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia is taking some encouragement his side's weekend defeat to champions Manchester United and told his players they now need the same performance against Hull City. A fortunate goal from United youngster Federico Macheda secured three points for Sir Alex Ferguson's side at the Stadium of Light and kept Sunderland on the fringe of the relegation zone. But it was a much-improved from a Sunderland side who have gone seven games without a win since pulling off an impressive 2-0 win over Stoke in early February. On Saturday Sbragia's side face a crucial relegation battle against Hull City who are just two points above them and he says they need to replicate their performance against the European and world champions. Sbragia said: 'We analyse everything. We always look at what we did right and what we did wrong; what are our strengths, our weaknesses and how we might improve. 'And one of the things we'll be analysing this week is why didn't we play like that in the games that have preceded the Manchester United game - because everyone would agree we need much more of this sort of performance and much less of the other. 'We were excellent against United, but the most important thing now is taking that forward into the Hull game.'
