Sunderland midfielder Andy Reid believes Saturday's 2-0 win over Stoke City could be a 'massive' result in their quest for top-flight safety.
The Black Cats have endured an up and down season, but seeing off the Potters at the Stadium of Light sees them seven points clear of the drop zone.
Reid believes some of the pressure has been relieved with the win, although he does not want his team-mates to switch off just yet.
Massive result"It's a massive result, especially when you look at some of the results that came in on Saturday," said Reid.
"It went quite well for us. You look at where we are in the table and it gives us a bit of comfort, not that we will be switching off.
"We have got tough games coming up and we know we need to be right at it.
"But maybe it will give us a little bit of leeway to settle down and express ourselves a little bit more in the up and coming games."
