Sunderland supremo Niall Quinn fears his side's form will not improve until he is able to strengthen his squad.
Quinn's reign as manager began with a 2-1 defeat at Coventry on Sunday and continued with a hard-working, but uninspired display in a 1-0 loss at home to Birmingham on Wednesday.
"I am very disappointed, but not as down as I was on Sunday because at least we gave it a real go for the whole 90 minutes instead of switching off after 70 minutes as we did at Coventry City," said the Irishman.
"I think the players need help on the training ground with the creative aspect of our game, because that was what we lacked in vital areas.
"But I am looking to add new faces which will freshen things up. There are two or three Premiership players I am hoping to convince to come here."
