Potters continue Collins talks
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has confirmed the club are still in talks with Danny Collins and also hope to bring in a loan signing. Sunderland have accepted Stoke's offer for Collins, who has spent the past few days discussing a move to the Britannia Stadium. Coates is hopeful the defender will agree to join the Potters and also revealed Tony Pulis' squad could be strengthened further before the close of the transfer window. "Talks are continuing with Collins," Coates told The Sentinel. "One never knows for sure what deadline day will bring because that's the nature of the beast, but I can say there may be a possibility of a loan player coming in. We shall just have to see." Potential Diego Arismendi completed a move to Stoke on Monday and Coates has high hopes for the Uruguayan international midfielder. He added: "He's a young player and one we hope has a lot of potential. "It's the first time we have dipped our toes into South American waters and it will be an interesting one for us. "We have had our eye on him for a while and we have done our homework. "He will take time to settle in English football, of course, but he's a strong lad and we are very hopeful for him."
