Phillips has 250 goals in his sight but won't celebrate at Sunderland

Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips wants to reach the milestone of 250 career goals on what he admits could be his last Premier League visit to the Stadium of Light. But Sunderland's former favourite will not celebrate if he achieves the feat in front of the 'best supporters in the world', especially given the club's struggle for Premier League survival. Phillips, 36, who scored 132 goals in 234 games for Sunderland, said: 'I scored there once before and didn't celebrate and I won't be doing it, even for my 250th if I get it.' Goal machine: Kevin Phillips is gunning for his 250th career goal this weekend Phillips has reiterated his desire to continue playing for at least another season although it remains to be seen whether that will be at Birmingham where his contract runs out in the summer. He said: 'I am definitely going to play on for another season. I feel fit to play on for another year or two, definitely another year. I'm not ready to retire yet. 'I spoke to Niall Quinn in the week and one thing he said to me was 'play on as long as you possibly can'. He said after he finished, three months later he was wishing he had never retired. 'A lot of people have said that to me so I will definitely be having another year. Where that will be, who knows. If it is at Birmingham, then great. But that is the manager's decision.'  Andy Townsend's boot room: news and stats for every Premier League matchKevin Phillips tells Birmingham to splash the cash or risk relegationSUNDERLAND v Birmingham: Steve Bruce to wait on late fitness test for Kenwyne JonesSunderland v BIRMINGHAM: Stuart Parnaby to return but Teemu Tainio is unavailableMcLeish: Sullivan will face court if he tries to poach Larsson and RidgewellMan City's Champions League challenge will decide Joe Hart's fate, says McLeishBIRMINGHAM CITY FC
