O'Neill Showed His Passion For The Cup!

Martin O'Neill played a strong side against Bolton, but with illness and injury taking their toll on his small squad, he could only name six out of a possible seven subs.

His injury problems have now increased, with Cuellar and Danny Rose both picking up hamstring problems at Bolton, which makes the addition of reinforcements this month more important.

Martin O'Neill: “We wanted to treat the competition properly on merit. I don’t care that this was our fifth game in 15 days, we wanted to be in the competition and to do well in it.

“We had a couple of illnesses and injuries to players, we don’t have the biggest squad and we were really stretched.

“We’ve obviously lost a couple more now, but we are going to try and do something about it if we can – and we need to.”
