O'Neill Points The Finger Of Blame!

Martin O'Neill believes Stephane Sessegnon should have done better for QPR's first goal.

Steven Fletcher gave Sunderland the lead at Loftus Road, but three of QPR’s January signings – Loic Remy, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas – earned the Londoners only their second home win of the season.

Martin O’Neill: “It was a great win for Queens Park Rangers, and a great goal to essentially win the game for them – it came to him (Townsend) outside the penalty box and he volleyed it into the net.

"But it was disappointing for us.

“It’s being going like that for some considerable number of weeks.

"It’s up to us to change it round, and we need to do that pretty quick.

I haven’t seen the goals back but (for the first one) the nearest man should try and close it down.

"It might have been Stephane Sessegnon who was closest, and he is essentially a forward-thinking player, but in that position we still might have done a little bit better.”
