Nosworthy hits comeback trail

Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy has returned to light training as he steps up his comeback from a hamstring tear.

The 28-year-old former Gillingham star has missed the last five games because of the injury but is on course to return to first-team action before the end of the month.

Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia told the club's official website: "He's doing some light work and he could be rejoining us next week, so we're pleased with that one."

Meanwhile, Teemu Tainio has also been able to train this week after missing three matches with a knee problem and Carlos Edwards is an injury doubt for Trinidad & Tobago.

The winger is struggling with a hamstring injury and could miss the Soca Warriors' World Cup qualifier against El Salvador.
