No Cats approach for Strachan

Gordon Strachan's agent insists Sunderland have not made any contact with the Celtic manager.

The Black Cats are continuing to search for a new boss following Roy Keane's departure earlier this month and Strachan has been linked with the Stadium of Light post.

Former Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce remains the bookmakers' favourite to land the role but Strachan has also been mentioned as Keane's possible successor.

However, the former Manchester United and Leeds midfielder's agent, Athole Still, said: "There has neither been an approach from our side nor any approach from Sunderland.

"It's just speculation. Last week it was (Mexico manager) Sven-Goran Eriksson."
