No Sunderland deal for Venezuelan

Sunderland do not have an agreement to sign Venezuela international Luis Manuel Seijas, according to the midfielder's agent. The Independiente Santa Fe player has been linked with the Black Cats, who could be keen for reinforcements in the wake of Lee Cattermole's knee injury. To add weight to the rumours, Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has a track record of signing players from South America following his days at Wigan. But Seijas' representative, Sebastian Cano, insists that there is no truth to speculation that the 23-year-old could be moving to the Stadium of Light in January. "Luis is very comfortable at Santa Fe," Cano told South American media. "For the moment there is absolutely nothing with Sunderland. There are only rumours that are normal when the winter market approaches." However, Cano has not completely ruled out a move in the future, adding: "We all know how football is. "We have to wait until December to see if something arrives because in football anything is possible."
