No Black Cats move for Chamakh

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has ridiculed Sunderland's link with star striker Marouane Chamakh. Recent reports have suggested Sunderland are lining up a move for the highly-rated Moroccan as Steve Bruce looks to bring in a new forward. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted his interest in Chamakh, but would only move for the player if Emmanuel Adebayor left North London. Bordeaux are keen to keep hold of Chamakh after winning the French title last season and Triaud has dismissed talk linking the player with Sunderland, questioning the status of the North East outfit. Triaud told AFP: "We never received any offers for Marouane Chamakh and what is he going to do in Sunderland? "I don't want to insult Sunderland, but I don't even know where they finished last season. "You have heard him say he will only sign for a big English club."
