Niall Quinn admits SAFC will buy this Summer

But who? Sunderland have been linked with a flurry of players since Chairman Niall Quinn  admitted the Black Cats will be bring in new some new faces in the summer transfer window. Big Niall also added that manager Steve Bruce was left short of options when looking at other premier league team’s squad list which is evident now having to end the season without a first team striker. Quinn said, "We know we were short this year. The manager wasn't given the fairest hand to deal with in relation to some." "The example I give is Stoke, who are near enough to us in the league and have had a better FA Cup run than us. Stoke have six top class centre forwards to choose from. "We have to do a lot of things and there is a lot of hard work to do this summer. But it's not going to be willy, nilly signing players, they need to buy into the toughness of being a Sunderland player. "Buying that sort of person who buys into it and won't shirk responsibility that is vital. We need people who will join into the team spirit we have here which, at times, has been a big strength we've got. "It's an ongoing exercise and it's something we're all up for. We got a glimpse of how good Sunderland can be on Saturday." Sunderland have in the last two days been linked with Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan who will be available on a free, young African striker Anthony Ujah currently at Lillestrom.  Cardiff’s striker Jay Bothroyd will also be available on a free transfer, and has gained an England cap this season.  Another Blackpool player DJ Campbell has been thrown in to the mix, Campbell has a lot of connections with Steve Bruce and could be a decent replacement for Frazier Campbell who we won’t see until at least the end of next season.
