New role for Sbragia

Former Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia has been appointed as the club's new chief scout. Sbragia, who stepped down as Sunderland chief at the end of last season, will now work alongside new Black Cats boss Steve Bruce in his new role. Blackburn had been linked with making a move to lure Sbragia to Ewood Park, but the former Manchester United and Bolton coach has decided to stay at the Stadium of Light, much to the delight of Bruce. "Ricky has a wealth of knowledge and experience and I'm delighted that he will be heading up our scouting operation," Bruce told the club's official website. "He has a vast network of contacts and he knows just what it takes to be a successful footballer at this club, so I'm sure he will be a fantastic asset to our backroom team."
