Murphy was wasted or so he thinks.

Not a left winger, but also proving he has a short memory. Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy currently on loan at Ipswich Town linking back up with Sunderland’s old boss Roy Keane, Murphy made comments for Ipswich’s local press on how he believes to have been wasted at the Black Cats playing as a left winger rather than his native striking role.  In all honesty the Irishman was seen as dead wood as a Sunderland player for Darren Bent, Kenwyne Jones and Frazier Campbell all being ahead of him in the strikers role, to boot Andy Reid being the first choice left winger.    Murphy who seems to have found his level in the championship went on to thank Roy Keane for bringing him to Portman Road by the way of scoring as many goals as he can. Ex Sunderland boss Roy Keane added  "We've given him a new lease of life. I spoke to him in the summer about joining and he probably regrets that that didn't happen.” But surely a question to put to Daryl Murphy after all this praise of Roy Keane and comments regarding his positioning at Sunderland would be “Who was the manager that first took you out of that striker role and place you on the left at Sunderland?”
