More Sunderland Fans Arrested!

Police have arrested six more people as an investigation into the disorder caused before Sunderland's fixture with West Ham.

Men aged 51 and 28 from Houghton, A boy aged 15 from Spennymoor, a man aged 26 from Gateshead and two boys aged 16, one from Sunderland and one from Washington have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

This brings the total number of people arrested to 14. Of those, 11 people have been bailed pending further enquiries while three remain in custody helping with enquiries.

The arrests follow violence, which it’s believed was pre-arranged, which happened at around 2.15pm on Saturday, January 12, outside Revolution Bar at Low Row in Sunderland city centre, prior to the Sunderland v West Ham match.

The incident involved both Sunderland and West Ham supporters.
