Meyler set for reserves outing
Sunderland defender David Meyler will return to competitive action when the reserves face Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The Republic of Ireland under-21 international has not played since he ruptured knee ligaments against Manchester United in May.
It was initially thought he could miss the whole of this season but is set to make a 30-minute cameo at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground.
